Australian cities make CDP Cities A List

Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and Adelaide have been listed as amongst the top 43 global cities acting to reduce emissions, adapt to climate risks and manage water resources.

The ranking is the first-ever Cities A List produced by CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project) that names the world's cities leading on environmental action, and identifies the cities that are leading the low-carbon transition while safe-guarding citizens and ensuring they remain prosperous places to live and work.

The A-List was drawn from 625 cities that reported through CDP’s environmental disclosure platform in 2018.

Canberra was recognised as one of five cities that have city-wide 100 per cent renewable energy targets. Melbourne was recognised for its Net Zero Emissions by 2020 target, and Sydney for net zero by 2050.
