The Queensland government has released its latest discussion paper aimed at evaluating the effectiveness of the state’s environmental offsets program.
In place for four years, the environmental offsets program aims to provide protection for the state’s significant biodiversity assets through an offsets program.
The review of the program will explore innovative ways to achieve conservation outcomes, increase landholder participation and improve social, cultural and economic benefits.
All stakeholders are invited to consider the discussion paper, Review of the Queensland Environmental Offsets Framework (PDF) and provide feedback on the strengths, opportunities and areas for improvement within the framework.
Feedback on the discussion paper can be sent to the Department of Environment and Science until close of business 15 April 2019.
