Melbourne Water begins creek restoration program

Melbourne Water has commenced its new program to restore some of Melbourne's creeks and waterways, entitled Reimagining Your Creek.

Three waterways have so far been identified and, as the first stage, the local Melton community has been invited to submit ideas and suggestions for how a 1.4 km section of Arnolds Creek could be transformed into a community space where people can interact with nature and enjoy the visual amenity.

The Arnold Creek project will involve removing an existing concrete-lined channel and replacing it with a healthy waterway and surrounding open space that incorporates contemporary urban design, based on community aspirations and feedback. A Community Advisory Group will be formed to help guide the design. Construction is expected to begin later this year and be completed by July 2019.
